Behavioral Modification

The biggest key to reducing future energy consumption is awareness. And at the end of the day, the overwhelming majority of people want to do their part to conserve.

At LPB, we encourage all our clients to track utility cost and consumption in their Utility Manager™ database and publicly disclose results to employees, students, tenants, constituencies, etc. When users are aware of what is being consumed, they are more likely to take steps to change bad behaviors.

Many progressive LPB clients use the monthly dashboards and reports from Utility Manager to create friendly competition between sites or locations to see who can reduce the most. Incentives for local managers and their teams can be created to amplify the effect. When people know their efforts are working, participation in conservation activities will multiply and the results will be seen in the bottom line!
