LPB Energy Management (LPB) was founded in 1999 by the company’s president, Matthew Berke, to help clients reduce utility costs by securing the lowest energy rates available in deregulated markets.  After gaining expertise as procurement specialists, LPB quickly discovered the crucial role that accurate utility bill and meter data plays in providing an energy management solution that reduces utility costs and usage.

As a result, in 2006, LPB purchased Save More Resources, Inc. (SMR), the owner and developer of the innovative Utility Manager™ suite of software products.  In addition to architecting the Utility Manager software, SMR established the foundation for LPB’s Service Bureau, the nation’s highest quality service bureau organization which processes hundreds of thousands of invoices with a 99% accuracy rate.  SMR’s combination of software and bill processing expertise was the perfect complement to LPB’s already thriving energy management practice.

LPB acquired Jenkins & Roland in 2007 to expand its Bill Audit services.  The members of the Bill Audit team are expert analysts who have been conducting audits for companies and institutions for nearly 20 years, identifying millions of dollars in total savings for clients in the form of credits, refunds and future savings.

While growing other parts of its organization, LPB has remained one of the top procurement consultants in the industry.  LPB’s superior market analysis team and experienced contract negotiators ensure clients get the best market advice and contract terms available.  LPB’s commitment to clients and cultivated expertise has contributed to rapid national growth.  Over the past five years, LPB has grown from a small company of five people to approximately 130 associates and has increased its client base by over 1,000 new clients.  In February of 2009, LPB surpassed 16 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity under contract with 12 billion kilowatt-hours comprising active contracts.

LPB continues to focus on helping clients measure, report and reduce energy costs and usage, improving their bottom line and environmental sustainability.

Today, LPB offers clients consulting services that support:
