ENERGY STAR^®

ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy helping us all save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices. Results are already adding up. Americans, with the help of ENERGY STAR, saved enough energy in 2007 alone to avoid greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to those from 27 million cars    all while saving $16 billion on their utility bills.

United States Green Building Council

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a nonprofit membership organization with a vision of a sustainable built environment within a generation. Its membership includes corporations, builders, universities, government agencies, and other nonprofit organizations. USGBC is dedicated to expanding green building practices and education, and its LEED^® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System™.

The WasteWise Program

The WasteWise program is a part of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and was launched in 1994. The WasteWise program engages state and local government agencies, trade associations, nonprofit organizations, and businesses to help educate their members and constituents about the benefit of reducing solid waste.
