LPB Energy Management Recognized with QSR Applied Technology Award
DALLAS, TEXAS – July 15, 2010 – LPB Energy Management (LPB) announced today that it has received Quick Serve Restaurant’s (QSR) Applied Technology Award. QSR’s Applied Technology Awards recognize the best innovations that improve and enhance the restaurant experience for operators, staff, and customers. LPB’s Utility Manager™ software platform was selected in the category for green technologies, defined as innovations that have quantitatively improved the sustainability and efficiency of a store or system.
The Utility Manager software platform leverages monthly utility bill and meter data to measure and report on energy cost, consumption, and environmental factors. With over 250 user-friendly reports, Utility Manager helps operators understand and actively manage their energy consumption and its impact on the environment, including carbon emissions, cost per employee, and facility benchmarking.
“Being recognized by QSR is an honor and reinforces our continued commitment to providing our clients with the necessary tools to improve the efficiency and sustainability of their operations,” said John Fardella, Executive Vice President of Business Development at LPB. “Utility Manager is a great way for our clients to monitor and implement changes across their organization, in turn, improving their bottom line and environmental impact.”
The July issue of QSR Magazine features all of the 2010 Applied Technology Award recipients from each technology category.
LPB Energy Management Receives 2010 SAS 70 Type II Certification
DALLAS, TEXAS – June 29, 2010 – LPB Energy Management (LPB) announced today that it has received its annual Statement on Auditing Standards (SAS) No. 70 Type II certification. This highest level certification demonstrates the effectiveness of LPB’s internal controls and procedures related to its utility management solution. LPB’s 2010 Type II audit opinion not only reviewed the company’s description of controls, but also included detailed testing of those controls over an extended period of time.
SAS 70 is a widely recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) to represent that a service organization has undergone an in-depth audit of their control objectives and activities involving information technology and related processes. For this detailed audit, LPB retained the services of McGladrey & Pullen, LLP, a member of RSM International, the seventh-largest worldwide accounting and consulting organization. The internal controls McGladrey & Pullen tested include data center security, network access security, software management, and invoice data collection, validation, processing, and payment.
“In today’s economy, it is crucial that service organizations, such as ours, provide clients with the highest level of confidence and security when it comes to outsourced business processing,” said Matthew Berke, founder and president of LPB. “The SAS 70 Type II certification is just one of the ways that LPB is committed to delivering the highest quality solution to its clients.”
